Legacy Ministries and Legacy Church
OUR MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of Legacy ministries can be summed up in Isaiah 45:13:
To walk in righteousness, to be led by the Holy Spirit in everything,
to co-labor with Christ as He builds His Church, to be a catalyst for
releasing God's people into their destiny, and to obey God with no motivation for personal notoriety or gain.
We have a 3-pronged approach to ministry: Build Relationships, Share the Gospel, & Make Disciples.
OUR STAFF
Pastor Michael Kennedy and his wife Tammy love the Lord and love people.
After over 20 years of ministry, they decided to begin a new ministry in a new direction. After seeing what "church as usual" had become, they realized something had gone wrong and the church had jumped the track.
Realizing that the modern church believes in inviting non-believers to church in order to hear the preacher share the gospel, Pastor Michael & Tammy used Acts 2:24 as their pattern and decided to begin by meeting in homes, concentrating on discipling others, who will eventual go out and establish other home churches and disciple others, who will, in turn go..
Thus setting up a new system of doing church that seeks to fulfill the great commision, by going into the world and making disciples.
Michael is pastor and teacher. He serves the community as an elementary school teacher. He is also a member of MENSA International.
Tammy serves a business manager and secretary.
OUR CHURCH
We are a relatively new church, based on an old idea.
Acts 2:42 states "All believers devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching, and to fellowship, and to the sharing in meals (including the Lord's supper), and to prayer."
Our church meets in homes. As a church family, we gather to study God's word, praise and worship him in songs and hymns, and share life together, as a family.
Because some of our church family cannot physically join us, due to location, travel, or illness, they join us via the internet, using the video chat program Zoom.us
Our typical service consists of bible study, prayer requests, prayer, singing, testimony, teaching and preaching. Our key emphesis is descipleship. We don't believe the main purpose of the Sunday church service is to reach the lost. We believe our church family should be doing that every day.
